As I ran the mother of all political science and social experiments of our time, I realized how easily the public is fooled by miss information. I posed as a blogger on Huffington Post for the purpose to see how many innocents could be fooled by the misinformation taught by both candidates and schools which failed its students. In this case, I chose to deliberately claim Puerto Rico is a state and its language should be left unto itself. The rash of comments I got, of course negative ones both proved how easily the public is fooled, but by how many are indeed paying attention to detail, both in life and in school.
To make things perfectly clear I do indeed know Puerto Rico is an island. It is not a state, but wanted to see if a fake person could assume wrongly it is a state, just what else could the public buy from candidates willing to sell thier own snarl to get elected?
Santorum is demanding if PR wants to become a state its people must adhere solely to the English Language. Aside from the total affront this is to its people, and all people who are bi or even multi lingual, why force an agenda that is not in keeping with our own constitution? Is it not free speech to speak the tongue one is taught from birth? How could this make those people any better to only speak English? That is like asking a sheep to only wear the Amish look.
Do the tea par tiers realize what gives us our za za zoo is that special little dose of human pro secco that is individuality? To strip that of someone is asking a lot. By all means people must learn the language if they want to learn to drive in another’s country, or to purchase items on line. Can you imagine how messy things could get if we went to another’s country, wanted to drive, but could only understand one language? Sign language does not count if you are trying to decipher road signs or discovering someone cursed you, and it was not a compliment? If puppy went to China and wanted to drive, he would have to know both mandarin and English at least. Why then pick on a group of people who come from an island that by the way uses both in their daily lives? Why make that their sole criteria to become a state in the USA?
What makes us US is not our hair color, eye color, size, shape, weight, length of nose hair or other. It should not be based on how someone looks, but how they mesh into the melting pot that is our wonderful group called humans. What you may ask has gotten under the skin of Santorum that he would make such a bigoted comment?
Santorum by definition is primordial ooze, albeit a cleaned up description of the actual definition. Ooze has no morals, ethics or ability to see beyond its anal glaucoma. The problem with this kind of candidate is that there are too many people who are ill educated, or choose not to become educated and just accept what any politico says. If they hear it enough, it must be fact, and the facts be damned.
My social experiment proved my point, if enough uneducated people read or hear only what they are taught, or preached, they assume it must be true. When they get out in the open and repeat such in accuracies, they are deemed total idiots or savants. The few who pick up on the inaccuracies are the educated, enlightened, and one could say the elite. Yes it was painful to read the comments people made assuming I was the village idiot. They had no idea it was in fact a social experiment by sheep to see just how far someone could be fooled.
Never underestimate the powers of sheep. We are way ahead of you all and know what makes you tick. Our radar is so in tune with the human psyche it is scary. If more people were like sheep, we would not have a tea party, nor uneducated beings. We would have fewer in need of produce, with omelet issues, who must conform to fit in. Sadly, people like Santorum and Romney assume humans are all beneath then and they will buy whatever is spoken to them. Politicos for the most part all all the same, save for the few who are more like sheep than they want to know.
Our social experiment proved another point. It took an issue by a candidate to bring this problem to light. It did not have to be language and PR, or gays and marriage, or reproduction and cross dressers. It could have been something as basic as who will win the brackets. Sheep are not totally out of the loop folks, we have our favorites but that is for another column. Our point was made. But will the public listen to reason?
